  • A fine, early 19th century Napoleonic Prisoner-of-War built model of a fifth-rate (40 gun) frigate, the bone planked hull with open gun ports (the turned bone guns run out), with pinned copper sheeting below the waterline, rudder and chains, and bound masts, yards and bowsprit, standing rigging with blocks and sheaves, and windowed bone stern and quarter galleries; the beakhead with carved and pierced catheads, two bone anchors with wooden stocks, and a winged horse figurehead; the planked deck with exposed guns on stepped carriages, capstan, gratings, longboat secured above the waist, galley stove pipe, and canopied ship's bell, 65cm length overall, 53cm to the figurehead and 55cm high, some (circa 1950s) replacement and repair to the rigging, mounted on 'Y' blocks on a decorative bone and timber plinth, in a later mahogany framed glazed case, 77 by 28 by 62cm high.
