A MEISSEN ‘CRIS DE PARIS’ SERIES FIGURE OF A VEGETABLE SELLER SECOND HALF 18TH CENTURY after the model

by Peter Reinicke (1715-1768) with a basket of vegetables on a strap round her neck holding a white radish in her right hand wearing a green jacket and puce striped skirt gilt edged scroll moulded base underglaze indistinct blue crossed swords to rear base 14cm high some restoration This appears to be a variation of the white raddish seller from the Christophe Huet drawings. Provenance: Meissen Figures from the Barlow Collection the collection started by Sir Thomas Dalmahoy Barlow GBE (1883-1964) banker and industrialist also known as an art collector and historian; added to by his son Basil Stephen Barlow (1918-1991); thence by family descent.
