in circa 1745 the lioness seated with its right paw raised and mouth open to reveal its teeth the cub lying below on a mound base with flowers and leaves 13cm high some restoration Provenance: Meissen Figures from the Barlow Collection the collection started by Sir Thomas Dalmahoy Barlow GBE (1883-1964) banker and industrialist also known as an art collector and historian; added to by his son Basil Stephen Barlow (1918-1991); thence by family descent.
