A Worcester teapot and cover, circa 1768-70 of globular form decorated in the Giles workshop with flower

sprays in 'Dry Blue' enamel, the flowers including typical Giles features such as a 'divergent tulip', with gold edged rims, the spout and handle gilded with characteristic graduated dashes, the cover surmounted with a flower finial edged in blue, 14.3cm. Underside of lid is chipped (1cm diam) to rim but has not affected the upper rim. Chips to the flower finial. End of spout is chipped. Some wear to the gilding on the handle consistent with use. Surface scratches to white glaze which also affects the blue decoration. Minor nibble to rim of teapot (where the lid sits). You can bid live on this sale at bidonthis.co.uk
