Carters Steam Fair are world renowned experts in rescuing and restoring traditional fairground rides and bringing them back to their former glory using traditional signwriting and fairground art techniques.

Carter the lion has been beautifully hand-painted by the incredibly talented Aaron Stephens, Carters Steam Fair's full time sign-writer and fairground artist, in the style of a traditional funfair galloper horse, including real gold leaf. No computers, apps, fancy software or other digital tools were used to transform this stunning lion into its regal glory.

Carter has been lovingly designed, painted and finished in the style of the original Carters Steam Fair gallopers ride, which opened in 1895.

Carter was sponsored by Carters Steam Fair.

- Sculpture designed by leading UK sculptor Alan Dun from Bath.
- Handmade in the UK from hollow fibreglass
- Weight approximately 25kgs. (They can easily be carried by 2 people or by one strong person and fit in most large estate cars)
- Measurements: 180cm long x 60cm wide.
- Painted in acrylics with real gold leaf, with integrated pole with base plate.
- Varnish: Easy On clear gloss anti-graffiti coating (manufacturer details: 20 year permanent life, withstands 100’s of cleans, Class 0 Fire Rated graffiti protection)

PLEASE NOTE - The auction houses have kindly waived their 25% sales commission, however VAT at 20% will be added to the hammer price of each lot
