IDALIA

Artist: Karen Thomas

Karen is a working artist and art teacher. Her focus is mainly on modern botanicals and contemporary floral paintings. Karen's use of colour is integral to her work and the bold confident shades reflect her childhood home of Barbados and its vibrancy.

Karen has a BA (Hons) in printed textiles but now focuses on fine art painting and illustration. She runs her own studio and sells her work online.

'Idalia' is Greek for 'glorious sun/behold the sun' and her lion is a celebration of British Summertime and the abundance of the British Garden.

Idalia was kindly sponsored by BCD Travel

- Sculpture designed by leading UK sculptor Alan Dun from Bath.
- Handmade in the UK from hollow fibreglass
- Weight approximately 25kgs. (They can easily be carried by 2 people or by one strong person and fit in most large estate cars)
- Measurements: 180cm long x 60cm wide.
- Painted in acrylics
- Varnish: Easy On clear gloss anti-graffiti coating (manufacturer details: 20 year permanent life, withstands 100’s of cleans, Class 0 Fire Rated graffiti protection)

PLEASE NOTE - The auction houses have kindly waived their 25% sales commission, however VAT at 20% will be added to the hammer price of each lot
