  • CASED IRISH PIKE: The Bonners Pike, as featured in Fred Buller's book, The Doomsday Book of Big Pike" 1979, pages 47-8 refer, being a 35lb cased specimen in flat front glazed case 52" x 22 x8", reeded back drop over gravel base, internal label reads "35 lb Lough Derg, Mounted by Williams Dublin, however Buller argues "In the absence of these (captor) details the author thinks that this pike is probably the pike that H. Conway Belfield caught on Lough Mask in 1902 (No211) the weight 35lb is right, the length 45.5" is right and the depth 8.5" is right, and we know that Belfield's pike was cased. Moreover we know that Mr Williams of Dublin was the person who set it up". Illus.
